    FAMILY MINISTRY VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

    INTRODUCTION
    Thanks for your interest in serving in our family ministry! As a volunteer, you’re stepping into a leadership role. Kids and students will be watching how you live and lead—both on Sundays and throughout the week. We want to make sure that who you are on Sunday reflects who you are every day. To help us stay on the same page, here are a few key expectations.

    SEXUAL BEHAVIOR
    We believe marriage is a gift from God and is between a man and a woman. If your lifestyle doesn’t align with this belief,  you may be asked not to serve. This includes:

    • Being in a sexual relationship outside of marriage.
    • Being in a same-sex relationship.
    • Living with someone of the opposite sex outside of marriage.
    • Being married but involved in a sexual relationship outside of your marriage.

    SUBSTANCE USE
    Your past struggles with alcohol or drugs can be a powerful part of your story—we’d love to talk about how God may use that. However, certain behaviors may prevent you from serving:

    • Arrest or conviction for a drug/alcohol offense in the past 12 months.
    • Current treatment for substance abuse.
    • Illegal drug use within the past 12 months.
    • Regular heavy alcohol use (e.g., drinking to intoxication).
      • What we do in moderation, students may do in excess.

    SOCIAL MEDIA CONDUCT
    Students and parents may follow you online. We love that social media can help build connections, but what you post matters. You may be asked not to serve if:

    • You regularly use inappropriate language.
    • You post photos or content that could damage your influence with kids or parents.

    AGREEMENT
    By signing below, you agree to these expectations as long as you’re serving in family ministry. If you’re unable to uphold them, you understand that leadership may ask you to step down.
